The D’Alembert Roulette strategy is considered to be a safer roulette strategy than the Martingale one, mainly because although you do increase your bets this is done at a much smaller rate than the Martingale procession. The D’Alembert system is an even chance system which means it should be used on black-red, even-odd and 1-18/19-36. It should not be used for columns and inside bets.

Theory

It is relatively simple, pick a starting bet and then you increase your bets by one after a loss and decrease by one after a win. The below example reflects this:

  • Bet 5 and lose
  • Bet 6 and lose
  • Bet 7 and win
  • Bet 6 and lose
  • Bet 7 and win
  • Bet 6 and win
  • Bet 5 and lose
  • Bet 6 and win

Although in that sequence there is an equal number of wins and loses you are still actually in profit by 4. This is really the fundamental rule with the D’Alembert system, if the number of wins is the same as number of loses you will always be in profit.

Advantages – This system is as risk free as is possible to find for a gambling strategy. You don’t need to be wealthy to use it and you are in no danger of being hit by the table limits.

Disadvantages – The potential winnings are low and over a long phase of play, you are unlikely to to win as many bets as you lose

Be sensible and set yourself a limit you won’t go over when betting.
